Coffee Talk 3.12.10

Greetings Company Girls! It's my favorite blogging day. Unfortunately, despite the fact that it has been Spring Break, this week has been crazy busy and today is no different!

I am actually typing this Thursday night because I have to have my little ones at my wonderful MIL's at 7:00 a.m. so F.B. and I can be at the Regional Science Fair by 7:45...ugh!

It will be a busy day with Science Fair, guitar, dance and the awards ceremony so I will not be around to visit till Saturday or Sunday...but I am coming!

I only have a moment, but let me just say that almost no Small Things have been done this week! That is because we had a very BIG thing happen Saturday night when my husband won a black lab puppy that I wouldn't allow my children to sign up for. After making B.B. cry himself to sleep Sat. night because he couldn't keep the dog, Sunday a friend talked us into keeping it on a trial basis. So, the week has been consumed with early potty trips and daily training and bonding sessions.

I got tickled about winning the dog because we NEVER win anything! So, I decided to try a challenge and enter as many contests as I could to prove I never win. I won the first contest: an LSU serving tray. So, pretty much everything I have said in the past couple of weeks have been proven wrong. I just need to stop talking!

In a whirl, spring break is over and the real world starts again next week, but that little puppy really is cute as can be and totally worth it!

Oh! I also got an award that I totally need to write about. And I totally will. But right now, I have to go bond with a nameless puppy!

Maybe you can name the puppy Lucky. =p Have a great busy weekend. With a birthday and wedding coming up, all our weekends are busy too. Yikes!

Wow a puppy - that is such a challenge, but I'm sure it's really cute too - when can we see some photos? I'm allergic to dogs but I'd really like to get a cat, maybe later this year.

Have a great weekend,
Jade

Good luck with the puppy! Puppies are a lot of work, but they can a lot of fun too.

Does any of your bonding time involve taking (and posting) photos? We would love to squeal over the nameless puppy! Have fun with him :)

Oooh - if you won the puppy, you know he was really meant to be yours! Puppy training really does put a crimp in the routine, but it seems you've already fallen in love with him, making it all worth it =^).

I feel your pain and I feel your joy of the puppy. I have never won a puppy, but I rescued one and they can really be a great pain and a great joy. Yes I have a love hate relationship with my dog.
I hope you end up keeping the puppy and it will be fun to see what your family end up naming it.
As I don't know if it is a girl or a boy, may I suggest Laika the name of the first (and only) dog ever sent out in a spaceship. Check out Laika and Sputnik on google :)

Aw, a puppy! My brother-in-law brought his black pug over last week and is doing so again tonight. At first Rob was disapproving of him just bringing the dog (especially since he's not 100% housebroken), but as soon as we got home and met him, I heard the words "Now I want a puppy, too!". Haha!

See, they will just win your heart in spite of how we feel about them. :o) By the way, what are ya'll naming him/her? You may have said, but I missed it. I do hope today went smoothly with all the science fair stuff. Happy week-end!

WOw! A puppy...as a prize! That's like winning a child or something...actually it IS winning a child...I will be praying for you as you bond with your new family member!

Oh no, please don't tell me your spring break was nuts! I have a fear mine will turn out the same way. I'm determined to stay home during ours and do next to nothing.

Trial basis huh? That means the dog is yours! When we bought our mini-weenie dog way back before we had kids we couldn't decide at first. So the lady said, "Oh just take him home for the weekend. You can always bring him back." Yeah right! Buster was our family dog until 2 summers ago when he finally ran out of steam. He was 16.

I'll be praying that your children really take ownership and that all the responsibility doesn't end up on you! Can't wait to see pictures!

Congrats on winning the LSU tray!

Hope your weekend is spectacular!

Don't you love God's sense of humor - when we open our mouths, He LOVES to prove us wrong! :)

Enjoy the puppy - it could have been worse. When I was a kid, a friends brother entered a contest (without mentioning it to his parents) and won ... a HORSE! They couldn't keep it, of course :)

Oooh a puppy! A lot of work, for sure, but what a loyal dog you will have for a long time! :)

Thanks for stopping by http://imalazymom.blogspot.com!

Nice to "meet" you... now go name that puppy!

Good luck with the new puppy! :) We were talked into one a couple of years ago and he pretty much bonded with me. Oh, he plays with the kids too, but he's definitely my dog.

Thanks for your prayers. I did find out this morning that it's colon cancer. I still want to protect their privacy, but that gives my friends something specific to pray about. The next step is a cat scan to see if it has spread, but we don't know when that is yet.

Many blessings,
Melissa

Lucky is a great name for the puppy. That's cute. =)
We got a bunny a couple of weeks ago - and we're trying to get rid of our cat. Okay, I am trying to get rid of our cat. We're all allergic and he has "issues" which make it difficult to put up with him... sigh...
