Coffee Talk 1.6.12

Good morning, ladies!  Hope everyone had an amazing Holiday season!  We had such a great time celebrating with family and enjoying TONS of family time that it has been a little hard to get back into the swing of things this week.

Now, you know brevity is not my strong point but I am being yelled at to hurry up...I have a newly four year old that is getting a little put out with me because I promised to play with him and I am not there yet.  There are pirates, little people, Batman men and Scooby Doo characters all over the floor that are SCREAMING for me to come!

So,  in a nutshell...we had a great Christmas.  We didn't quite get Christmas cards sent out as we have been somewhat consumed with adoption paperwork.  Therefore, here is a nice kid Christmas picture that WOULD have looked amazing on a Christmas card:

So sweet!
This week, we are trying to get back into the swing of things.  Tigerfan had Monday off (his holiday day for New Years) and we used the day to put the finishing touches on a jewelry display for our Ugandan necklaces.  If you know me, you know that I do not have a crafty bone in my body so I was quite impressed with our finished product!

I told Tigerfan he needs to make some more to sell for fundraisers...it is quite adorable!  I think we are even going to make one to donate to our church's Orphan Care silent auction, since our contributions are kind of slim.

I also started back with running this week.  I have not gone in several months for several reasons but I got back into the habit this week...Had to back track quite a bit and I still can't say I love running, but I feel so good for doing it so I am going to really make an effort to stick with it!

In other news, we decided to start another blog to journal our adoption journey and to use to promote our fundraisers, etc.  I'm not sure why I think I can keep another blog updated when I can barely find time to keep up with this one, but I am giving it the old college try so if you haven't already been by there, feel free to check it out here.

Otherwise, we are just getting back to basketball, dance, tutorial, etc.  Nothing too exciting.  Tigercub had a birthday and Dancer has one coming up in just a couple of weeks.  We also are thrilled that after a year and a half, we have someone coming to our church this weekend in view of a call.  He was our former Youth Pastor and we love him to death so we are really excited for our church and for what is in store for the year ahead!

That is about it today...sorry, nothing too profound or even too interesting...but a four year old boy needs a batman partner!

Have a great weekend and don't forget to stop by Home Sanctuary for Coffee Talk.

I love your family pic...would have definitely been a great Christmas card.....I linked onto your adoption blog....that is discouraging news but be assured that the child that the Lord has already chosen for your family is there...he will direct you in the right path for that child to join the family that He has already been planned for...I don't think I explained that properly....I'll try again...when we adopted I realized that having a family of birth children and adopted children wasn't an add on to God's plan for our family...THAT was his plan all along...and subsequently, the child that we adopted was always planned to be part of our family...God didn't change His plan for that child after they were born...THAT was His plan for that child all along...so...all this to say..no matter which way you decide, which route you take, you will get the child that God has chosen as part of your family...just stay close to the Lord, and He will direct your path. There, I said it...and you thot you were long winded! :0)

OH my word that picture is fabulous. What a good looking crew! They've grown up so much since the last time I saw a picture. Thanks for sharing that!

I'm looking forward to following your adoption story. I have a dear friend who adopted 2 boys. It was neat to see the Lord work all the details out just so. Like he does as we wait for the birth of our biological children. I always try to plan, stress about the timing of the delivery, worry about xyz and then everything always just happened the way the Lord intended all along. God is just so good!

Are y'all getting all geared up for Monday night like we are? I think mom and I are cooking all day tomorrow in prep for the game. LOL! On the menu...Gumbo, a coupla dips, and some sweet stuff. GEAUX TIGERS!!

Star, I owe you and one of your cubs a big fat apology, which I hope to make formally by email soon. ((SIGH)) It's just so humbling to be me!

Have a blessed weekend!

Great photo! I didn't get cards out this year either...just too much other stuff going on. I got a few email cards from people and it made me think maybe that wouldn't be so bad.

The necklaces are great - and nice display! I pray many blessings on you as you go through the adoption process.

Love the Christmas pic! I too have cards that didn't quite make it out. I found them this past week while cleaning and now I am faced with the question of whether to send them out or not? It's quite a bit past Christmas now. Hmmm. They are addressed and stamped and everything but for some reason they just didn't make the fifty foot trek to the mailbox. I think I will send them out with something funny written on the back of the envelope.

Anyhow, I wanted to let you know that I added you to a blog list on my blog so that I can see quickly when the Company Girls update their blogs! Hope you'll stop by and visit me soon too!
