Coffee Talk 4.23.10

Good Morning! C'mon in and sit a minute! This should be short and sweet this morning for a variety of reasons. It is 7:10 and I have yet to get my children out of bed. Not good when my plan for school is to be done by lunch. I am also, frankly, just completely exhausted. Puppies and allergies and life have run me ragged and I am not sure I can string together many sensible sentences...I know, your questioning my ability to do that even on a good day, but today is worse. REALLY!
It has actually been a relatively calm week around here. Tigerfan got home from his hunting trip (where it rained EVERYDAY and he only got to hunt 1 day) on Sunday night. He took off on Monday so we had a light school day and enjoyed his return. The rest of the week was just the usual. I am sure there were some great stories in there. I am sure Tigercub had some antics I should share with you and journal for all posterity. But I don't remember them. Mostly, I remember blowing my nose, chasing after a two year old with a paddle, and yelling...I mean declaring that "I DON'T WANT A PUPPY"!
Today, we have a wonderful weather advisory out. I am not sure whether to dread how my oldest will hang out in the bathroom under the stairs as soon as the clouds roll in or rejoice that we will get rain that will, hopefully, wash some of this blasted pollen away. I am also waiting for a call at any minute from Tigerfan. Last night, he (who is just as scared of storms as F.B.), declared we should just leave town until Saturday evening when the storms pass. Unfortunately, he couldn't find anywhere within a decent driving distance that wasn't also going to be under severe weather advisories. He informed me this morning we may go anyway...good times. If the men had to pack the clothes, prepare the kids and figure out what to do with the animals, they wouldn't be so willing to plan last minute ventures!
Okay, time to wrap up this whine fest. B.B. just came downstairs and is hanging over the toilet. Looks like we can add either a stomach bug, or more likely, sinus crud to our list of maladies today. Good times in the Tigerden! Hope you ladies have a lovely weekend. And if we aren't blown away, I look forward to visiting you!

Oh my goodness...you do have your hands full don't you....my allergies have been driving me nuts too but I usually end up with the sinus headaches....or a mother headache...not sure this week! Oh, I remember when our lab was a pup I swore up and down that I'd never get another lab...but I will admit that after having die after nine years that I miss him terribly. Hope your little one stomach bug isn't lasting. Try to get some rest between the storms!

Sounds like quite a week for the Company Girl community. Good thing we have one another to vent to, pray with, and encourage. I hope the weekend will be a bit more agreeable and enjoyable. And I don't want a puppy either!!...Just practicing for when the girls ask one day. =p

Oh, my goodness, I'm praying that it IS NOT a stomach bug. On top of everything else, that is NOT what you need. And, I do feel your pain about the puppy and I hate to inform you but it lasts a long, long time. You should give TF full responsibility and that might take care of things. ~hope-hope~ Praying for refreshment of your soul!

You made me giggle a little- men and their last minute trips. Growing up, it was my dad who made us late for everything because of the last-minute things he thought of doing. :) Hope you find time to rest this weekend!

Too Funny! I hope you all feel better and don't blow away!

Fingers crossed for rain, but not the kind that'll freak out kids - I know what that's like! The rain will cleanse your sinuses as well as the earth - good for Earth Week!

I hope your family starts to feel better soon ... and that nobody else catches your little one's bug.

We've had a lot of pollen in our area as well! It sounds like you have your hands full! I do hope you have a great weekend.

Take care,
Karen

Here here to washing away the pollen!! And that's all I'll say about that!
I love your posts! It just sounds like home to me :) Minus the dog of course ;) Oh and my hubby doesn't hunt.
I hope you have escaped the bad weather. We've been hearing reports about bad weather but so far it hasn't come. It's just very windy.
Blessings to you!

The pollen here south of Houston has been awful, too! Seriously awful! So, I definitely sympathize. Sounds like you've had your hands full with a new puppy, too. Sorry I'm just now getting to read your Coffee post since it's already Sat. night. But I'm glad I stopped by! Enjoyed reading. Hope you're having a good weekend.

Sounds like you and the puppy are NOT off to the best start! I hope you're able to clear your head (allergies) and enjoy today for a bit!

I think my puppy is just a little older than yours, and I have to say...puppies are HARD!! I had no idea they could be so hard! I'm at home with mine all day too. But, I do think she's improving in every area except for attitude - she reminds me of a teenager some days. It'll get better for you with the puppy, I promise! They can be a real test sometimes though. I feel your pain!
