Fit Friday

After a VERY rough week last week, I was determined to do better...and I did!

I did not miss a single day of exercise (yeah, me! and yeah, kids!). Just that alone makes me feel so much better! I would like to get some different workout videos and I am trying to convince Tigerfan that I really NEED WiiFit for Christmas! But, regardless, I exercised! This morning I even did a little dance workout I found on YouTube...oh if you could have been a fly on my wall this morning...cause, people, this white girl cannot dance!!! But it was fun, so who cares?

I did better eating as well. This was quite an achievement considering the busy weekend, 3 sick children, dance lessons, angel practice for the boys, etc. It has been a wild week. Perhaps the most deadly thing to my diet was the extreme desire to drown my election woes in chocolate. And I did...to some extent...but overall, I did better than I have in two weeks.

The result...drum roll, please, NO LOSS! In fact, I may have even GAINED a pound back! I cannot remember what time I have been weighing in, so I weighed twice..once I was steady, once I had gained a pound.

I guess I shouldn't whine...I mean I do deserve it after the last two weeks...but, really! I think I'll chalk it up to water retention due to my increased exercise this week--I feel better that way. And, I should probably remove all signs of Halloween candy from my sight! By now the kids are sick of it (imagine that!) and so it just sits on the counter and mocks me! I think I probably gain a few tenths of a pound every time I walk into the kitchen!

Anyway, I am going to keep trying this week. Does anyone have any good low fat, low cal dinner suggestions? I do pretty good with breakfast and lunch but could really use some help with relatively quick and easy supper ideas.

Hope everyone's week went well! For more Fit Friday, check out It's Almost Naptime!

Yes, definitely plug the "fit" angle of the WiiFit :) We don't have one, but friends do and it is cool!

Way to go! It's probably just bloatedness.

For dinner I make any recipe with ground beef using ground turkey. My family has never noticed the difference. I have found that usually ground beef recipes don't have a lot of fat besides cheese, so they tend to be low fat a lot.

Do a search on my blog for my taco soup recipe - it is to die for and with turkey, very low fat.

Awesome job! Don't you just feel so much better after exercise. I sure do!

I am not a nurse or fitness specialist, but I think muscle weights more than fat, so maybe the no loss is from muscle gain! Just an idea!

Keep up the great work and see ya next week!

Way to go this week! No worries about that pound gained!
I agree with Missy on the ground turkey. That's what I always use instead of beef.
Another fast dinner that I love is quesadillas with grilled chicken, salsa, low fat cheese, and lettuce on a whole wheat tortilla - just bake in oven for 5 to 10 minutes @ 325. Yum!

Awesome job! I am also angling for the WiiFit! We cook with a lot of chicken and occasionally use the ground turkey too.

check out my blog this week...I am totally obsessed with my Wii Fit! You don't have to leave your house and everyone can do it...even kiddos can create a profile! Santa should totally bring you one, but he'd better start looking for one now cause they are hard to find.

Way to go with the exercise! That is so great. Okay, two things....

1. I can't dance either. When we do "dancy" moves in my step class I look like a total moron.

2. My scale never weighs the same even if I step on and off of it three times in a row. Makes me crazy. My philosophy is: the lowest number is always the most accurate.

I do WW and boy did I need to do it in the last year I have gained almost 20 pounds. STRESS! I lost 4 pounds last week with the WW plan, now if I could just exercise to. Good for you!

water weigh gain is a killer. You have so little to loose, you're gonna have days like this!
Don't give up!

Check my blog of a few days ago for some good dinner recipes. I was featured in my city's local magazine this past week as the "Cook of the Month." Go, me.

Next piece of advice: Never again step on a scale...Primarily because those rotten things LIE!
