HELP!!!

Good Morning Ladies,

Hope all is going well. I missed being here last week and, frankly, am not sure that I will make it around this week...we have a crazy busy weekend ahead as we plan on heading out next Friday for the Land of the Mouse. We will be spending Thanksgiving with Mickey and Friends and I am not prepared. I will do my best to make it by, however.

I'm really just popping in for a little help. I am going through a bit of a struggle right now. School is...UGH! and raising a teenager is about to get me...and there are three more behind him! I would be lying if I didn't say I was praying fervently that Christ returns in the next three years before B.B. enters the teen years! Anyway, I am struggling, REALLY struggling. I know I need to just surround myself with scripture and pray through this time...but honestly, I don't have the energy to seek out that scripture (just being real, here). So, this is how you can help me. What are the verses you turn to when you need strength or comfort? My plan is to write them down and post them all over my house and maybe make a set to keep with my Bible. If you have some that have just given you a lot of strength at some point, would you just leave a comment and share it or them with me? Thank you my precious Coffee Talk friends. Have a blessed weekend!

Oh dear... I am a long way from the teenage years but I can't imagine. In the thick of the toddler years I find myself quoting from Romans all day long, "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me". Praying for you!!

I just knew that I needed to read my daily Bible reading and there would be a verse for you.

"What is faith? It is the confident assurance that what we hope for is going to happen. It is the evidence of things we cannot yet see." Heb 11:1

Hang in there, girl. Praying for you.

I stopped by from Shari Braendel's blog.

Your life seems hectic right now but, in a few years your children will be grown and you will wonder where the time went.

My verse is He will never leave me nor forsake me.

Enjoy your Thanksgiving trip!

I also want to say “thanks” for the lovely compliment you wrote on my makeover post on Shari’s blog! She has written an awesome book that has helped many women, me included. :)

This is not a verse, but my precious Mom's favorite saying was always, "this too shall pass." And, it will, all too quickly. Try to focus on his positive traits and I bet he is going to make you one proud Momma one day as I'm sure he has already. Your children are well grounded and they are precious. Take a deep breath and hang on for the ride. :o)

Oh boy! Sounds like fun...I'll try it one day. But honestly, I know so many people who gave their parents grief during those teen years and are perfectly fine adults now, and then those perfect straight A students who went crazy as soon as they were "free" from their parents during college and after. It is a struggle throughout this stage but when we discipline with the Lord's help, they will come to realize we do love them. I guess I'm speaking from the youthworker side of things, because from the parenting side, what do I really know about having a teen? =p Anyhow, enough pretending like I know what I am talking about...that is too funny about that pop up brush huh? I might have to get one for us too...it was only 98 cents at Target!

Oh and a verse?...Psalm 46:1(??) God is our refuge and strength, our everpresent help in trouble.

I understand your frustration and I have also put scripture around my home to remind me how to tread my children. One that I have on my kids' bedroom door is Jeremiah 29:11. A familiar, but encouraging verse for me to continuously be in prayer for my kids and to remember that God has big plans for them!
For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.
Have a great weekend!

Thanks for the birthday wishes..especially when you're so busy....my favourite verse right now...(one of our teens has worn me down, I will admit) is found in Job19:25 I believe....'I know my Redeemer liveth'...after all that Job went thru he was still able to say that....it gives me encouragement to go on....
