Good Morning ladies! I only have a minute this morning so this will be brief. I know, you are saying I say that every week and it is never brief. That is true, but I am going to try!
We have had another cold week around here. A couple more days snowed in and more snow predicted the beginning of next week. Nothing compared to Washington D.C. but enough to shut things down around here (which actually doesn't take much!). I have been the mean mommy that has made my children do school despite the fact that every other school in three counties has been closed. I have been trying to convince them that that is preferable to be doing school in June...they are not convinced. But, hah! I have the final say!
I must admit that, despite the fact that I am a homebody and the fact that we would be home doing school anyway...I have begun to experience cabin fever. I was SO glad to get out of the house yesterday. Ya know, you can only make so many bead necklaces and block towers before it really starts to get to you.
Last night while the big kids were at there selected activities, I decided to run into Target to get Valentines goodies since the weather and business had kind of kept me from that. People, I know it is close but really...the aisles were CLEANED OUT!!! There was nothing but cherry flavored Snickers or something! What is the deal. Someone forgot to tell Target to order extra so the day after Valentines I can go stock up on lovely goodies at 50% off. Not only that, but there was already Easter candy and supplies EVERYWHERE!!! Seriously, one holiday at a time, people!
We had another great week of Bible Study. I am loving this study. My challenge this week is to be so filled up with Jesus that I just "slosh Him out all over the place" which is how Angela Thomas describes it. I am not there yet. But I think I have been more aware this week of what I am doing and saying and HOW I am doing and saying, especially to my children.
As for small things...I don't want to talk about it! I started off so well. Anyway, we have company coming today and I promised my nephew some sugar cookies so I must go bake and do school and get ready for haircuts, dance, guitar.... you understand. I hope you all have a blessed week! And no matter what is going on, remember, your saviour is ENTHRALLED by you so be encouraged!

how funny, i was at target the other day and saw the easter stuff too. it feels like i can't keep up!! happy friday.
I'm sitting here watching the snow continue to fall :) We've had about 6 or 7 inches. So much fun for the kids! There is a snowman on the back deck, a pile of wet clothes in the laundry room, taco soup on the stove, a fire in the fireplace, life is good!
I've heard tales of Easter "stuff" in the stores here too. They don't waste any time do they? I'm with you...one holiday at a time. I haven't even thought about Valentine's Day this year. Sad huh. Maybe I'll go make some sugar cookies for the kids and I to decorate since we're stuck. (Love being stuck!)
Love the idea of "sloshing Jesus everywhere we go"! I have a lot of work to do!
Have a wonderful weekend!
I'm with you on the cabin fever. Finally got out yesterday - to the good health of our entire family. =)
And what is the DEAL with holiday stuff being out so far in advance? Really annoying... I get fired up about it so I'll have to take a deep breath and move on. lol
Oh yes, the WHO I am for my children and NOT the WHAT I do - I really battle keeping focus in that area and know it's a LIVING OUT process and pray that God fills me with His Spirit so He can pour Himself through me. Until my selfishness rears its ugly head... Sigh. it is a process - and thankfully HE is patient and persistent!
No snow here but it is not sunny this side of FL! I understand a little bit about school- mine still do a little bit of school even if they're sick!
I hope you get to enjoy outside a little bit, for the sake of us who are only dreaming of snow!
Oh, I was just noticing all the Easter stuff today also...very frustrating since I was looking for Valentine napkins for our church dinner tomorrow night and most of the Valentines stuff was already on the markdown table...and there wasn't much! Finally found the napkins in Walmart! Have a good wknd!
I'm a homebody too, but can only be cooped up for so long. We know some people in DC and it sounds crazy over there. I think Valentine's stuff come out right after Christmas now. Now I want some chocolates....
We're covered in snow here too and I'm loving the time to read and watch movies and snuggle in. I was at Wal-Mart and it was the same way, Easter stuff everywhere. Ugh. I'm not ready for that yet. Why is the candy out before the Easter clothes are? Thanks for the reminder about Jesus. He loves us beyond our understanding!
So glad you got to get out for a spell...
I am glad the snow is finally melted and life is starting to get back to normal...I am hoping life stays that way for a while!
Have a great weekend!
Isn't it the truth, the stores rush out every holiday and rush in the next one. Loved your Bible Study comment and what a good thing for all of us to do. Hope it is a Happy Valentine's week-end for ya'll and Nicole and her family.
I cannot believe they're already calling for more snow - there is no way we're getting moved next weekend if this doesn't stop!
I have always felt the way you do regarding rushed holidays. I do have to say though that in this case, a little dose of Easter might get me out of the snow slump! Spring IS going to get here eventually...
I know what you mean about having cabin fever. We got snow last week & have more coming Sun. night, possibly 8'. I am so over the snow. I normally don't mind it but, this time it is driving me baty. Probably because we usually only get the snow 1 or 2 times a winter & we are going on our 5 snow already.
I am so ready for spring to get here.
Have a wonderful week.
